We weren't worried, but I guarantee it would freak some people out. We don't want to wait in our room all day. Just be honest! We have places to go and people to see. When you're told it will be there in 30 minutes, it shouldn't take an hour and 20 minutes. The length of the wait was silly, however. Room service for breakfast had GREAT food 2 out of 3 days. It nearly started a fight, but we tried to be respectful and simply pushed the guys away a few times. When told about this, the staff just laughed it off. Too many creepy guys in there attempting to dance with married women, who are WITH their husbands. The dance club needs a little better security. Drinks are VERY watered down, unless you see them make it in front of you, or demand extra shots. It is silly to have the restaurants close early during the day. At 2:00 am, I was awakened by a noisy party that was going on for over an hour, and I doubt was told to be quiet. We were approached in our swim-up pool, at 4:00 IN THE AFTERNOON!, and told that we couldn't be in the pool anymore, because there were "complaints" of noise. The woman said sorry, and simply walked away. She said "no," and that Caesar made her feel threatened. One of the female staff members even had to approach one of our women and ask if everything was OK. He's giving the resort a TERRIBLE reputation. He felt the need to approach the women in our group to tell them to "keep it down." When approached by one of the men, he quickly cowered away and refused to speak. Caesar (staff member) is EXTREMELY rude and confrontational. Why have the people that pay more get kicked out of their areas because of a private party? Hotels don't kick people out of their rooms. Related to the above, we were twice kicked out of the Preferred Pool for a "private party." The resort should have separate areas for private parties. It's a vacation! We paid to be Preferred Members. There is NOTHING that says this pool has to be quiet. When asked where the Preferred Pool that is not quiet is, we were told that this is the quiet pool. While our group was in the pools, not being particularly loud, we were twice approached by staff and told to keep it down. The Preferred Club was sold to us as having a better pool. But the food set out is very cheap and below the level of preferred. The bar is wonderful, and the bartenders great. The Preferred Club is great, but the food in there isn't. It is simply a bacteria trap in the back of your room. It is made to believe you can swim right from your room to the pool. Everyone in our group believed it meant that the "swim-out" connected us to a bigger pool. The swim-up pool is being falsely advertised. It's 2018! If I sit by the pool all day, and it is 80 degrees, the last thing I want to do is have to go back to the room to get on pants and nice shoes. I doubt anone eating cares if a guy is wearing shorts or flip flops. ![]() The dress code in the restaurants is strictly enforced, and silly. If anyone is wanting to upgrade to Preferred Club just please understand that the separate pool is beautiful, but it’s a “No Fun Zone”! More Show less ![]() Again, the grounds and most of the staff were lovely, but the other guests left me disappointed. They really should put up Silence Please signs around cause we truly thought it was a no fun zone. Honestly, the Preferred Club was like hanging out at my parents country club with a bunch of staunch people making snide comments. ![]() Secrets’ advertisements makes it seem like it appeals to a fun, celebratory crowd, but we unfortunately found the opposite. Little did we know that apparently the Preferred Club is for the rude, judgmental, older demographic guests. We all splurged and upgraded to the Preferred Club so that we could enjoy the separate pool and other perks. We went with a large group of friends looking forward to unwind and have fun without our children. This was our first time staying at a Secrets resort and although the grounds were lovely it’ll probably be our last.
